SCOTT MORRISON IS RIGHT:
VOTERS ARE NOT MUGS
The silent
majority are fast becoming sick and tired of bleeding heart lawyers, like
Julian Burnside and others, who represent the ‘Café Latte Society,’ in their
objection to the Abbott Government’s sensible immigration and border protection
policies.
The
outstanding success of former Immigration Minister, Scott Morrison needs to be
acknowledged. If Chifley Government minister, Arthur Calwell was the Father of
Immigration then Morrison has been the saviour of the program.
The scandal
of boat people –chiefly economic immigrants, not genuine refugees, was reduced
to nothing under Morrison. Under Labor the figures soared as did deaths at sea.
Under Labor
there had been some 2000 children behind the wire but Morrison reduced that
number by 90 per cent. Triggs and her Star Chamber saw fit to commission a
report on the Abbott Government but the Rudd -Gillard years, the years of
irresponsibility, were the untouchable years!
As for
Opposition leader Bill Shorten, known as Stabber Jack, or sometimes just BS, he
has no credibility on the matter. When a tentative Richard Marles MP said a
future Labor Government would also consider turning back the boats, if approved
by Indonesia, he was censured by his leader.
Shorten will
never become PM because Australians will never support politicians that need
the imprimatur of a foreign country to act in Australia’s best interests.
Indeed, recent threats by Indonesian security
minister, Purdijanto, to release 10,000 boat people to Australia do not play
well with the Australian voter. If Indonesia is mad enough to try that on then
watch the groundswell here that favours cutting of all foreign aid. Further
there will also be support to free West Papua–free, of course, from Indonesian
occupation.
Indonesia
should be very careful of making threats and instead remember what happened in
East Timor?
The Abbott
government deserves support, not carping criticism from the likes of Julian
Burnside QC.
Burnside was
demolished by another lawyer, Geoff Bloch, after his ludicrous statement that
Abbott, and journalist Andrew Bolt’s, Islamophobia is a bigger threat to our
way of life than terrorism.
According to
Burnside boat people are fleeing extremists; Islamophobia is the new
anti-Semitism; the Lindt Café atrocity was the act of a madman and it was
irrelevant he was a Muslim; most Muslims are not terrorists; bail provisions
should not be tightened; Bolt is an alarmist and responsible for increasing
anti- Muslim sentiment and that Abbott is somehow ‘dog whistling’ over Muslim
terrorism. The latter assertion belongs in a Star Chamber.
Burnside
should use words more carefully. Tripe words like xenophobia, Islamophobia and
homophobia are tiresome and simply used to intimidate and shut down debate. As
the late Christopher Hitchens, from the political Left, rightly said, “such
words are devised by fascists, used by cowards for the benefit of morons.”
Burnside can work out for himself where he fits in that trinity.
Does
Burnside really think there is any comparison between anti-Semitism and Islamophobia?
The Jews, except in Israel, have always
been a helpless, non aggressive minority in various countries. Militant Islam
is a threat to the World, a murderous ,
bigoted religion/ideology, demanding everything while conceding nothing. It is
rightfully reviled, rightfully feared and Australians have every right to
expect their government to heed those concerns.
Burnside can
sneer as much as he wants. But illegal entrants have no automatic rights to
choose Australia as a home. Australians do want national cohesion and are tired
of the whining, particularly from Left leaning lawyers.
If Burnside
cannot recognise the legitimate concerns Australians have, based on 1400 years
of Muslim aggression, and current day atrocities and demands, then he is simply
a fool professing to be wise. In contrast, Morrison is wise and responded to
the real concerns of the public when Immigration and Border Protection
minister.
When Spain
last year moved to compensate, and grant citizenship to the descendants of
Sephardic Jews, for atrocities against them at the height of the Spanish
Inquisition, Muslims demanded similar rights.
They conveniently
forgot that they were a hated colonial power, in Spain, being finally driven
out after centuries of abuse. On their feverish reckoning the Germans and
Japanese should be compensated for being run out of the countries they occupied
in World War II.
Morrison
knows his history, has good instincts and he will not be intimidated by empty
vessels making loud noises.
Middle
Australia considers Morrison as steadfast, tough and determined: A man that can
fix problems rather than talk about them or seek popularity. In short: one of
us.
The new
Social Services minister has a tough job to rein in the welfare spending but
the man who stopped the boats, and is respected by Middle Australia for doing
so, certainly has the capacity to make those changes. Already there is a
different style to his public persona in his second difficult portfolio.
The minister
is not frightened to express support for traditional values, either.
Morrison is
not for turning on the demands for same sex marriage. He rightly argues that a
child does have a natural right to a mother and father; that historical
traditions tested over centuries are more convincing than contemporary fads and
demands; and that weakening a bedrock institution is of no advantage to
society.
He labelled
forced marriages of children as an “assault on Australian values,” and an “abomination,”
on September 28 last year. This was after a 14 year old girl, accompanied by
her uncle, was prevented from going to Lebanon for an arranged marriage.
His words
and actions contrasted with the deafening silence from the ‘lame-stream’ media.
Forget
Turnbull and Bishop for leadership. When the time comes for renewal, perhaps in
the second term of government, Scott Morrison, now 46, will be the one the
Liberals turn to as leader.
Very accurate and eloquent summation of the issues.
